From today (6 April 2020) the Residence Nil Rate Band (RNRB) is increased to £175,000 per person, up from £150,000 per person.
This remains transferable between married couples and civil partners so the total RNRB available may be £350,000 in some cases.
Please bear this new figure in mind as it will affect any allowances you may claim under Inheritance Tax rules.
Feel free to call us, if you’d like to discuss how this might affect you and what steps you need to take to benefit from the increase in the rate.
